Death Note

Post by Light on Sat Jan 28, 2012 4:38 pm

I liked however I dislike what happened to Light after L died......It
made me want to stop watching the show, I'm aware that most people are
actually quite annoyed at the ending o-o Still a great anime
nonetheless.

It grinded my gears to see what happened to Light after L died. I got heartbroken after L bit the dust though. Why? Because i took L's side rather than Light's.

I took L's side too. I was completely gobsmacked when he died, I knew he would eventually, but not that soon.
Light turned evil 100% after L died. Plus I was against what he was doing, I know a lot of criminals could deserve to die, but not all of them.

When Light started to kill off people who were close to finding him out, he turned into a kind of criminal himself.

Yeah, like he started killing and shooting everyone who stood in his way. So yeah, even innocents like Naomie. XD

Killing other people who are trying to prevent more deaths means that he was in the wrong though; since he was so brilliant, why didn't he just realize that? I suppose it could have been the power that turned his mind to the fact.

Probably both. He lost sight of the truth in the end, and his mind refused to acknowledge or even care that he was in the wrong.

I supported Light through it all, even when killing those that almost discovered him. Sadly that is a necessity in remaining anonymous in such an extreme environment. I crushed when he died, I felt it truly ruined what could have continued into a great series.

well, he could have done something else you know, like disguising himself as someone else or dressing up as someone else.

I don't really think that simply dressing up or claiming to be someone else could have changed things, but it's been a few years since I watched it so it's possible they could have.

The author was trying to go for strategy, complicated thought process, and there were some real thought jerkers in the anime.
I'm not explaining it very well, but the way of working things out were genius - like a modern Sherlock, the other way round.

Yep, I mean, you can't really compare Light to Sherlock. Unless you were talking about L?

I was talking about L, though Light is also a kind of genius.

In the manga, Death Note was all like a game of logic.
Each character could slip up at any minute, and L was figuring out who did the crime and how, and Light was brainstorming on how he would think, how his reactions could let him down, how his every movement could affect L's judgement on who was Kira.

I'm sorry, it's really hard to explain... =.=

Like I said on another forum, death note is the mastermind genre. XD Not horror. I got thrown off-balance when someone said it was horror, I went through a wtfish moment.
